  1. Begin by carmelizing your onions.
  2. In a hot skillet, add the olive oil and butter, followed by the diced onions.
  3. Season with a pinch of salt, then reduce heat to medium-low.
  4. Cook slowly for 45 minutes, or until the onions are nicely carmelized. Set aside. (Can be done the day before).
  5. Make your secret sauce by combining the ketchup, relish, mayo, garlic powder and salt. Set aside.
  6. Spread yellow mustard on one side of each Butterball Turkey Burger.
  7. Heat your greased grill or cast-iron pan over medium heat, then add the burgers mustard side down.
  8. Cook for 7 – 9 minutes, then flip.
  9. Top each burger with a slice of cheese, carmelized onions and sliced pickled jalapenos.
  10. Cook for another 7 – 9 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 325°F (165°C).
  11. Toast each side of your bun, then spread on some of the signature sauce.
  12. Add lettuce, tomato and Butterball Turkey Burger that has been topped with the cheese, onions and jalapenos.
