This Thanksgiving, in response to the financial and logistical challenges many students face in traveling home, STFXSU is proud to host “Thanksgiving for U!” – a free community meal designed to bring students together during what can be a stressful and isolating time. Held at the Student Union Building, the event will also collect non-perishable food donations for Kevin’s Corner, the Union-run food bank.

In addition to the turkey dinner, the event will feature activities like board games and karaoke to encourage connection, aligning with its mental health mission.

The University Of Windsor Peer Support Centre is a drop-in centre where students from across campus can find a supportive peer to talk to. It’s a safe and inclusive space where trained peer support volunteers offer peer counselling to students.

The centre will host a Thanksgiving dinner – a buffet style Thanksgiving meal – to help provide students far away from home with a warm and inclusive environment where they can connect with others, share in the joy of the season, and feel a sense of belonging, especially for students who may be far from home.

The dinner will offer students a chance to take a break from their studies, reflect, and connect with one another, emphasizing the importance of support systems in enhancing both well-being and academic success.
